Is an independent research organisation dedicated to the research and protection of marine mammals in urbanised coastal zones. We focus our research and protection efforts on the Gold Coast, Australia.
I have set up the local Group Friends of Kirra Reef and initiated the monitoring of a reef on the Gold Coast to achieve better protection for the reef.
I am the founder and organiser of the Gold Coast Whale Festival. A free community event that raises awareness on marine conservation.
I have established the Gold Coast as a Hope Spot under the Mission Blue Initiative. By creating an alliance of various stakeholders in the marine environment we will achieve better protection for the Gold Coast bay.
I have been organising a campaign for the replacement of shark nets on the Gold Coast over the past years. Shark nets were placed along popular beaches about 500 m offshore in attempt to kill marine life swimming past. They are not an enclosure or provide protection.
